Fruityful Day

Even though I think my soul died a bit today. But never mind. Today is my day off, so I thought I’d do the second part of my errands. I woke up at 2pm today (whoo!) and decided that I need to finally go to the bank to transfer some money. The bank closes at 4.15 today, so I thought I should get there at least by 3.30. Should be easy right? Not when you’re me! Between waking up and leaving the house, took me about one hour and a half. I reached the bank at exactly 3.30pm – without eating. I only managed to scarf down two Viennese cookies after showering. It was pretty quick though. The last time I went to the bank is because I had to make a new ATM card and the previous two times before the last one, was for the same reason but without my mykad, as I was recently relieved off my wallets. Long story.

Anyway, after that I had lunch – where to go? – of course Pavilion! That’s my kitchen. I was craving for nachos and was pleasantly surprised that there is the same stall that sells nachos here in Pavilion as the one in KLCC! What’s funny was, I saw the nachos behind the counter of Little Taiwan so I asked the girls there where they got it. They pointed to the stall behind them. After that, after I sat down with my food (nachos included), someone else passed by and asked where did I get them! Hahahaha! Obviously people don’t know about the nachos!

While I was sitting down to eat, I turned on my phone and its faulty sim card and found that I had 3 missed calls from MPH. I tried calling back but my sim card hated me and kept cutting my line. After lunch I still had plenty of time before Maghrib so I thought I’d finally buy those stupid ink cartridges that kept giving me warnings about their impending dooms. So I made my way to Sg. Wang. And bought the damn ink cartridges.

And because my SIM card kept dying, I bought a new one.

Yes, Digi. I was too lazy to take a pic of my sim card so I just googled a digi image. I am not doing it any free or paid advertising. I always buy my temporary sim cards as Digi. So while I was on an sms-ing spree, telling everyone about my new number, I got fed up with the faulty buttons on my phone and thought, what the hell – let me just buy a new phone!

And so I did.

I name it NordKitten – after my laptop –NordKatten, meaning Nordic Cat hehehe.

Cameo.

It’s a Walkman W100i Spiro phone for RM250. Cute, cheap, good brand, reputable seller – what more do you need? Well, how about some accessories? Not so easy. For both case and screen protector, every seller nowadays are selling only for ; iphone, blackberry, galaxy or any variations of smartphones therefore. Gone are the days of the buttons. So I just bought a sock for it.

I wanna see how this one goes before I decide to buy anotherone which is crocheted, colorful and slightly longer, able to cover the whole phone. Because swiping your card takes some of your soul, therefore it needs some nourishment after that.

Nothing a Subway sandwich can’t fix!

I’m still keeping it for later though, since I just had a big late lunch. I also stumbled onto my neighbor who is recently married and thought I should finally give him his wedding gift. Just to be neighborly. But sighs, I still have some chores to do – clear up my desk, hang my laundry, fold my laundry and take out the trash.

((5 hours gap where I went to my neighbour’s house, hung out and had dinner. I have nice enighbours))

Forget all those things. I need to shower!

Norway Trip ~Sightseeing~

I had a headache after being told I was stuck in Amsterdam for 14 hours, so apart from Amsterdam pictures, I will upload everything else. That said, I don't like Amsterdam. Now then, during my trip, I went to Sweden for half a day and a daytrip to Denmark. Kristiansand was strategically close to these two countries. But while in Oslo the first time, I went to a place called Vigelands Park, which is a park full of statues of a fat naked man. Rows and rows, monuments after monuments of the statues of naked people. I heard this place was actually a private property of said naked man, which is why all the naked men statues look alike. It's probably the face and built of the owner. Apart from the obvious 'eye candy' it is actually a very nice park. Perhaps in the summer. The Viking Museum! You can't go to Scandinavia without visiting at least one! It was not very big, but it had 3 almost complete viking ships on display.Here's me, eating ice cream out here in the snow. I'm hard core yeah. Came back to Oslo the next week with Farah A to sightsee. We were joined by Karoline and Kari. Went to Munch Museum where the famous painting 'The Scream' is. Apparently, Edvard Munch made several versions of the Scream and only one of them is ever on display at one time. Unfortunately, the one on display when I was there was the one made with crayon on cardboard. I was so offended I didn't even bother taking a picture of it. Hmph. After that we went to the nearby Zoologisk Museum and Biologisk Museum. A werewolf? I was in Sweden for half a day.Blow proudly ye Swedish flags. It was nice and sunny in Oslo yet the moment we entered the Swedish border, it turned foggy. It was fun doing spontaneous sightseeing as 'historical sights (Hysterical Sight)' are marked on the road so you can just stop by and snap photos, just like this stone ship, just laid out in the backyard of a farmer's house. From afar it looked like the stonehenge. Ice patches everywhere. It was such a long and icy trek, but for the sake of being in Sweden I pushed on!!And we stopped by the goodies outlet in Sweden. Like a factory outlet of candy and chocolate. I bought some Swedish chocolate. Yum yum. Next, Hirtshals, Denmark.Costs 20 Danish kroner to climb up the lighthouse. We just had lunch, so I was content with just appreciating the view from down there. Apparently, Denmark does not get snow, but their wind is a killer. Cold and strong, even the trees grew bendy because of the wind. Here I am, freezing at the beach of Denmark, but determined to walk on! I was in Kristiansand most of the time and when I am out, I spend most of my time shopping. But when I am not shopping, I did some sightseeing too. Like, going to the fjord!

I was so excited when I saw a creek in Sweden, and when I returned to Norway there were creeks EVERYWHERE! Yeah I was so sakai.

I also went to the Dyre Parken (zoo). The Kristiansand zoo is the best! I was petted by a sheep.

And met some old friends.

New Year's Resolutions Revisited

I wrote down my new year's resolutions in my B5 ring binder on new year's eve before it went on my blog. I just happened to read them the other day and measured my success against it, and man am I proud! Here goes!

My 2010 New Year's Resolutions, mid-year review:

(in no order of importance except for the first one)

1. To graduate! Needs no explanation! Well it's not the end of the year`yet, but my reports are going along fine, so I hope it'll be realized soon!

2. To go on that Scandinavian tour xD. Okay this had to be postpone. So now it's NORWAY 2011 BABY! MY TICKETS ARE BOUGHT! I AM COMIIING!!!!!11111

3. To complete my Japanese lesson Advance 1 and 2 and JLPT level 3. I am most proud of this one. I completed Advance 1 and 2 and am now in Advance 3 yay me! JLPT changed from 4 to 5 levels so now I am aiming to take JLPT N4 and N3. I know that N4 is a sure pass, but since N3 is only slightly harder, I decided to take my chances with it anyway. They said N3 is now equal to Advance 4, which is starting around August so I am on track! Whee! Wish me luck! xD

4. To eat my supplements everyday (coz they are expiring soon heheh). Have completely gotten off the supplements wagon! I do prefer fresh veggies but I just forgot D:. I'll try to do better. I promise D:.

5. To come up with several plans (for my future) for the coming year. Holiday plans and carreer plans are up!

6. To have RM1087.92 in saving by the end of the year (that's my yearly loan repayment from nov 2010-oct 2011 btw). I have that amount now, but I have other plans for that.

7. To achieve my targeted amount of Snackelery sales. I haven't made any sales since the start of the year! Someone please buy! D:

8. To clean the house every two weeks. Is once a month good enough? xD

9. To check my monthly planner at least once a week. I don't really check it weekly, but I do update it often enough that I remember what's when and such. Thus my cute planner is sufficiently utilized.

10. To exercise 3 times a week and lose 5 kg! (This is a must every year!). Exercised. Scale is broken? xD Enough said.

Looking back it's amazing how frivolous my new year's resolutions seemed. And I'm not even sure if frivolous is being used in context. I mean yeah, graduating and Japanese lessons' targets are important, but supplements?

If I could make modifications I really should have added my goal of finishing my ISP reports by August 11th when the fasting month begins. At least I only have to worry about my thesis and pending paper. Pending I passed the one I sat before. I'm scared.

Anyway, I AM FINALLY GOING TO REDANG THIS YEAR YAAAY!!! I finally coerced one more person to accompany me and we are off just before the fasting month! I AM SUPER EXCITED! I have been wanting to go there for 2 years now! Now all I have to do is buy the bus tickets to K. Terengganu. I've never purchased a bus ticket before, so I'm a little intimidated. After that I'm heading to Masjid India to buy fabrics for my work uniform. HR Basically told me to put up with my short uniform because I am not important enough for a longer cutting uniform which are all BRAND NEW FIRST-HAND UNIFORMS RESERVED FOR MORE IMPORTANT PEOPLE THAN ME! So fucking pissed. What? Just because I'm a part-timer means I'm not entitled to good fitting uniforms!? I do more physical work than any of the full-timers in my unit okay!? Stupid HR! FINE! I'll make my own! AND IT WAS YOUR MANAGER WHO TOLD ME TO GET AN EXCHANGE!

Grr tomorrow (or today since its 3 am already) I have to go shopping full circle. My plans are like this:

Putra Bus Station --- Masjid India ---Mid Valley

Bus station for tickets, Masjid India for fabrics and finding a uniform tailor, Mid Valley to go pick up my L'Occitane card and to do some vain shopping. I totally deserved it. *Glares at my VISA*

Taxi to Putra, maybe taxi to Masjid India too. I know, there is a train that goes directly there from Putra, but it's such a long journey. I'll take the bus to midvalley, maybe? xD but definitely taxi on the way back home. will be a long day. Must wear comfortable shoes. Anyway, so excited! xD

Merdeka Day

Happy 52nd Merdeka Day to all Malaysians!

31st August! Also the last day of Malaysia Mega Sale! I'm going shopping! woo-hoo!

Anyway, where was I? Oh yes! What a week! I had my last Japanese test, I finally stepped foot in Terengganu and ate roast lamb at two hotel buffets.

Let's start on Monday. Monday night was the last Japanese class I had. Was a disaster xD but what is life without disasters? xD On Tuesday daddyo and my bro came from Kuching and I tagged along to Terengganu. I thought I could study during the trip, but man was I wrong. But, pretty beaches though. Crystal clear water and pure white sandy beaches are not a myth there. And the public beaches are surprisingly very clean. It probably had a lot to do with the 'no swimming' signs. Seriously. The waves are not dangerous, the sands are not sharp, so it must be a social thing.

Anyway, the beach at our hotel was open for swimming but I didn't go. Fasting month. Who would wanna do anything else than sleep anyway? Terengganu. Right. The moment we arrived in Kemaman, my dad rendezvous at his current project site. He kept dropping words like "project manager" on me. Showed me the site. The details of the construction and why things are...as they are. I think it's a great project...but I can't imagine myself driving up there every two weeks troubleshoot the project. And besides. I don't think I like Terengganu food very much.

Terregganu food is typical northern fishermen food. Abuse of fish is rampant. The food is either sweet or spicy. The keropok lekor is awesome though. The best thing that came out of the state: food-wise :P. Sorry, I'm Sarawakian. I think it's fairly established that East Malaysians don't have the same pallete. Even if it was the EAST coast. Nice beaches, still.

We break fasts at my dad's friend's house for both days. His house is quite nice. He bought a big piece of land with its own natural lake with natural water corrugation and bred fishes in there. His rooms are all over the place. Thus the whole property is basically one big house. I appreciate the hospitality, though I really didn't like having to eat outdoor. The bugs...they stick to the food, drowned in your drinks and sucked the blood out of you! Not an ideal condition to be when you're hungry.

...I don't like kampong life. It's not for me. Stop pushing it to my face.

Anyway! I had roast lamb for two consecutive days after we got back. I sat for a disasterous Japanese test and went straight to it. Rooooaaaaast laaaaaaambbbb. *drooldrooldrool*

Of Branded Stuff and Ugly Flats.

During the week off uitm had due to a H1N1 flu scare, Bukit Bintang had a general increase in Malay students out shopping. This scares me a bit as people start thinking I'm one of them too. This in turn made me more determined to drasticaly change my clothing style. Seriously. I did small modifications here and there, but there's still that scarf issue that needs to be tackled.

I do try to differentiate myself from these people. I wear shoes. Expensive shoes. D: Just to make a little point! I mean, you see those girls going around in their little group with at least one shoe shopping bag in hand. It's no secret that these kids spend a lot of money on shoes and hanbags, but you would think that after buying so many pair of shoes they wouldn't keep wearing those ugly flats out to shop would they!?? I find flats more comfortable than heels, but I would never be caught dead in those cheap ugly flats that's so popular with IPTA students!

I like branded stuff. I wear Skechers shoes and Esprit socks. They are more expensive, thus I can buy only a few pairs at once. But they last longer, and do not take up much space. You'd think people don't notice, but they do. They look at you a certain way, than say something like how unnecessary expensive branded stuff are when you can get a nice pair for cheap. Even though secretly they wish they could own branded stuff too :P. Oooh yes, they will say this to you today, but tomorrow you'll see them drooling at a RM300 Guess bag - thinking that it's affordable! (It's worth the price, but not unless it's a one-time thing).

In fact, I made it a point not to wear unbranded stuff. It makes me feel insecure, as if I've blown my money on something that's not worth it, no matter how cheap because I don't feel proud wearing them. Vain, I know. But that's just me :P. I don't like having too much clothes at once. I like to have a few nice clothes at once, and phase them out, and then get new ones. That's why it's important that I get the nice branded ones for these few clothes. I've learned to shop like a guy. Guys they hoard their money just to buy that one expensive item that they truly love and felt contented after just that one purchase. For example, my cousin's only purchase in Singapore was a $150 Bape cap, and my brother spent 2k on a pair of Versace shoes. It may seem like a waste to most girls, but I like spending a huge amount of money on just one thing you truly love than the same amount of money on a lot of things you like. I do both of course. If there's nothing I truly love, and I need to upgrade my wardrobe, then I buy a lot. Anyway.

I watched an episode of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservation in Saudi Arabia. His host was a female film producer. She is the only woman in Saudi Arabia granted permission to have a production company without a single man present. In Jeddah the women all wear those black robes called an Abaya. They wear whatever underneath. I suddenly thought how nice it would be to go there. I could wear a long sleeve shirt and pajama pants inside those abayas and nobody would know! I have worn abayas before during my last umrah trip. The locals don't care if you're not local. Baju kurung and other robes are fine, but those abayas are just so convenient!

I need to get myself more pajama pants! Wheee!

Fruitful Harvest

Haaaa xD....Today is good. Today is a very good day. Yesterday was fun day but today was a fruitful day. You see, the day before yesterday I was depressed that I didn't get to do any shopping and just being depressed in general. So we decided to go sightseeing the day after just to have some fun. After debating between KL Tower, Aquaria and Petronas Towers, Aquaria eventually won out. So we went and it was so much fun! It's very fun watching big fishes swimming around you know!

We went to PC Fair because that was the actual reason we went to KLCC. I got a nice mouse with a rubbery surface and a pretty mouse pad that came free with the mouse. The mouse was probably overpriced a bit to accomodate the mousepad but how often do you get a matching mouse and mouse pad? I got earphones too, but didnt get headphones because I havent found one that I fell in love with. Didn't buy much at KLCC though we did have fun trying out clothes at PADINI. XD I bought the dress today hehehehehehehe.

So today I bought clothes. After looking at my wardrobe it became obvious that I need new clothes as I am wearing the same clothes over and over again. As if there is no differentiation between my school clothes and everyday clothes. I want to get at least a few sets of new clothes before going for holidays.

We went to the night market, where I bought headscarves. Totchi was more excited by them than I was. I bought, and I just counted, about twelve. You can never have too much, right? And you can't keep wearing the same one each time! Neutral colors are important, so you always have more than one.

After that was MidValley which was also a fine harvest. I am happy xD. Tomorrow we will go watch movie and see if the Skechers store in MidValley has my size hehehehehehehe. Monday is the day I make my passport. Wheee! I am so happy!

Tea Mania

I have the worst timing when it comes to getting out of the house. Not only is today Saturday (The day when Sekibang-like highschool brats hang out at BB displaying their Sekibangness) but it was pouring!

I originally wanted to go to KLCC today to check out some porn at Kinokuniya for Watashiwa-san, but also to get souvenirs. I'm free, so I thought I should spread the love. So anyway, since it was pouring and only got worse and worse as I exited the apartment, I didn't immediately hailed a cab to go to KLCC because I didn't want to stand in the rain. So I walked all the way to Sg. Wang because Giant is the cheapest supermarket in the area.

I bought a buttload of tea, inducing some amusing comments from a woman who was browsing the tea aisle beside me. xD My spoils for the day turned out to be only tea and some wrapping papers.

I have a couple of these boxes so I decided to fill it to the brim with tea. Watashiwa-san, this is for you. A lovely little package isn't it? XD



I mentioned before that I might try the gold blend, so here they are. I took out about a third of this into that other box. Have yet to try it though. But they make such nice gifts. I never thought of giving people tea as gifts before. Especially Malaysian tea. BOH is freakingly cheap for a Malaysian gift item. One box of Earl Grey is about 7.50, and the pack 100g is about 2.30. Compare that to some KLCC pewter junk. This one actually taste good!



I got a cab at Sg. Wang after much persuasion (damn you taxi drivers! Is that meter just there for decoration?!) I only stayed in KLCC for dinner, after which I made my way back to Times Square and then to Sg. Wang. I spent less than RM100 today. I'm amazed at myself.

Proud Purchases

Hello. It's been a while. I'm in the middle of my exam season and I have a feeling I may be repeating some paper. But that is thought for another day. For now, it is the weekend and my next paper will be on Monday, so let me relax and gush about my latest purchases.
This is the best moisturizer ever. The L'Occitane's Ultra Moisturizing Fluid with SPF20. I like things that are 2-in-1 like this. It is a moisturizer+sunscreen. Preferably I'd like a toner+moisturizer+sunscreen but this is sufficient enough :D. According to the law of Price is an indicator of Quality, this thing is a gem. It moisturizers well, and is non-sticky like some moisturizers tend to be, and it's a sunscreen but not all hot and thick that covers your sckin like a layer of plastic. It gives a slight white tint after application, but once it dries which is about a minute, there is no sticky feeling at all. Even after I walk outside for a while, it was not dilluted by the sweat and does not make your skin shine. It even left a matte-like porcelain finish to your skin. So nice!

It really blends in well. I am so in love with it. XD

It's important to keep your skin hydrated and protected at the same time. I always take day skin care for granted because I wear tudong and only get the occasional sunlight touching my face. But I usually dont feel it and I don't want my ignorance to bite me back in the future.

Next, I got a watch. My watch fell and died. Now the people I sent it to for repairs said that it's "condemned". I dont know what she meant, but that watch is not working right at all.



I didnt plan to get one today, but it just sort of happened. It's terrible going to exams without a watch since you cant look at your phone. I haven't been browsing much, but I know that there isn't any that I would currently want from the usual Casio. I'm a dedicated fan of Baby-G you see. So I looked at Swatch. Up until then I didn't realize that all Swatch watches are analog. You can't find a digital Swatch watch at all. The one I got is part of the 007 Villain series, Le Chiffre from Casino Royale. The card theme goes well with the movie name huh?

I haven't used an analog watch in a while. I need to get used to the constant ticking on my wrist now. But the black strap contrasts nicely on my skin. xD It's so nice! I love!

Well that's all to gush about for now. I only had 3 hours of sleep the night before, so I need to make up for my lack of sleep. And I do wish Get Smart would come out in DVD soon. I love that movie.

Getting Organized?

I am trying to be, despite my various failed attempts in the past. Indeed, some of them had met with some success, but they have all been short-lived. So I decided it's time for some re-evaluation of my time. And time is certainly something I have a-plenty.

The night I returned to KL from Kuching, I took my B5 ring binder stuffed with xlassy off-white loose leaf papers, and started drawing columns and hours. I did an evaluation of my time, with my day starting from 7am (yeah, right) up til 2 am. Therefore, 18 hour days. It looks like I'm sleeping for only 5 hours, but my sleeping hours are flexible and naps are included in the days.

In summary, this is my findings:

1. 18 hours a day, = 126 hours a week.
2. 16 hours of classes a week, (school + Japanese lessons)
3. 8 hours of TV a week.
4. 12 hours of commuting a week (Am really not happy with this)
5. Which totals into 90 free hours a week.

I have classes Wednesday to Friday only which means my weekend is longer than my weekday.

Now, rather than buying a new organizer, I went out and bought sport shorts. (I went to KLCC. After I bundled my umbrella which was dripping wet and had been put into a plastic wrap by the guy at the entrace, I started prancing forward, humming to the theme song of Doraemon. This humming to Doraemon thing has been happening quite frequent lately, despite me not watching any Doraemon since I was 12).

Well, I'm going to start exercising regularly again so I need them for motivation hehehehe. After all, exercise would only take about 3 hours off those 90 free hours. Its not a lot, really. 1 hour each session, 3 times a week. I even blew up my exercise ball again and bought two new workout DVDs. I love Denise Austin. XD

2009 organizers are on sale now, by the way. Next year I'll just get a small one. Easier to bring around. Besides, I have thesis datelines to chase starting January, ending December, so a pocket organizer is essential. I just need to write down what to do on those days and stuff, anyway.

But my daily organizer will be manually done with B5 paper and stick up the wall with blu-tack. I just need to get blu-tack, and hope they dont leave a mark on the wall. And I really dont like it when my dad has a peek at my schedule. But pfft. Then he knows what I have to do and such.

Over-planning is overkill. Therefore I like to keep it flexible. I have an assignment due next week, and exams starting November. My exam will only take two weeks. If not ebcause of my Japanese class, I would be able to go home. We just found out our exam is on the 24th of December. Though the possibility of it being moved to January is high.

Either way, this will be a busy final exam since I have to resit one paper. Sighs. This has been such a blow to my ego earlier this sem with the stupid cangkul making himself out as if he's so smart even though all he does is mumble.

That's cangkuls for you. One giant tank of stupidity.

Of course, my life cannot be all work and no play. In fact, I played a lot. Holding my little black controller and have Vaan run around in his mini top is really filling me with happiness. XD I should prolly get a new memory card. And ooh, I really want that white, 160GB PS3 now. Daddyyyy!!!

Um, Where was I?

Lately I've been channelling my linguistic prowess in my stories and assignments rather than this blog. Or is it because there simply wasnt anything interesting to tell about other than my on-going lamentation of life.

Or I was just not too bothered by it to write about it. Usually it helps me clear my mind a bit, but I supposed addictions are not called so in a positive light simply because they are not. XD. I'll leave that for later.

Anyway, I'm finally easing up on the yaoi. Good for me eh? The stories become repetitive after about 40GB worth of them I suppose, but there are certain series I am still following hehehehe. I'm going to have my Beginner 1 Japanese language test on Monday. We will have both oral and writing. Sensei said our oral would be done at a 'special room'. Well the language school is small, so where is this room we wonder, so she opened the door and gestured to the corridor. Yes, my friends, our special room is on the corridor. Nice.

Needless to say, I am very much in love with my japanese classes. You know that little twinge of heaviness in your heart each time you thought of going to class? Well I experience not an ounce of it for my Jap classes. I would prolly even go insane if I dont see sensei twice a week. I don't know how I could surive! gasp!

So, raya is in about ten days and I'm going back next Saturday and since I have classes from Wednesday to Friday, I should start doing my holiday shopping. Daddyo didn't stay long enough to accompany me shopping so I contend myself with his absence and find solace in his card. xD xD xD

Today I bought t-shirts. I really needed new t-shirts you see and my wardrobe is in a dire need of an update. I finally got myself a Superman and Batman t-shirt! A bit childish, but I've always wanted one. A black t-shirt with Batman's logo on it, and a really cool white shirt with Superman's logo in gold prints and graffitis at the bottom at the back. Included in my shopping list today was my sister's perfumes and a copy of Love Recipe 2. I already have one of this, but this time it's for the lovely Nadja Irene. I wonder how much the postage is on this thing.

Speaking of postage, I posted Watashiwa-san her raya card yesterday. Oh and MY FINAL FANTASY 12 IS FINALLY ON ITS WAY!! SQUEEEEEEE! Thank you Watashiwa-san! I love youuuu! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Of course, my shopping is yet complete. I have found a sexy handbag, but I have yet found a sexy pair of heels. That's right. Heels. This year I'm finally buying my own pair of heels. I am tired of looking shorter than everyone else. And when you wear heels there's a certain bounce to your step that makes you look more elegant and lady-like. I want to look like I belong in my clothes, not like some adolescent who just refused to grow up.

And I have RM40 vouchers from Parkson and Metrojaya that's yet to be spent. xD I will definitely make a trip to benefit at Parkson for some cosmetics xD and MAC of course, make up is important xD xD. And aaah, so fickle about the shoes. I'm thinking if I cant decide then I'll just borrow my sis's again.

p/s this weekend there's been some sort of performance at Sg. Wang. It was cool. They played old raya songs and people dance to them in the 50s and 70s theme. There was even an old grey vespa on the stage and if it's a 70s song, then the dancers would dress all seventies, complete with afro hair, big glasses and flare pants. Amusing xD.

Deprived, Yet Lives

Nah, deprived is the least of my current state. I just got back from a shopping spree at KLCC with my cousin. And she bought a lot of make up. And very persuasive at that. I fear for my wallet T-T.

Anyway, have you heard of the brand Benefit at Parkson? It's really good. Pricey, but good. Price is a good indicator of quality.

Daddyo admitted himself in hospital last Thursday due to some stomach pain (turned out to be high blood pressure again). I was woken up at 5:30 am to accompany him to the medical center in Bangsar, after just two hours of sleep and could only go back home at about 9 am. Sighs. Anyway, he checked out the next day and immediately took a flight home.

In the mean time, I slept over at my cousin's. Was pretty last minute too. I slept on the couch for two nights. But the couch was comfy and the boldster was longer than my lover. Very nice. I felt like a traitor but it's all for the sake of comfort.

I initially followed them home to claim my souvenir. They recently came back from the U.S. you see. My cousin's husband is a diplomat.

Anyway, last night was full of drama. Her friends suddenly dropped by and started bitching intensively about her ex. She talked non stop about her ex and how a hypocritical ugly bithc just stole him despite him not loving her. I was pretty much in the company of a bunch of psycho ex-girlfriends it was amusing. Turned out last night was her ex and his fiance's wedding. Details shall fall onto to the deserving ears hehehehe.

I am still in exam season, but my next papers are on the 26th, 27th and 30th so I have the whole of next week off. Of course, I have to study and make notes. But there's plenty of stuff for other things too. I recently bought a Let's Learn Hiragana workbook. I've been wanting to learn Japanese since forever. I am already en route to joining a Japanese course at a language center at KL Plaza (In August, hopefully). My goal is to take the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. I want to have a certificate to officially certify that I am proficient in Japanese you see. My goal, other than to speak is to read and write. Thus, the book. It doesn't hurt to get a head start isn't it?

I know this will bore you but I wanna talk a bit about my exam strategies. There are two sections. A and B. Section A is a case study and carries 40 marks. Section B is essay. Answer 3 out of 5 questions, carries 60 marks. Immediately, I went into damage reduction-profit maximization mode. I attacked the essay questions, picking out the ones I can answer fully. Then I made outlines, pouring out the content of my brains on the questions. Instantly I gained 60 marks. It usually takes more or less 45-50 minutes to do one essay question because they are that elaborate. So by the time I get to section A, I'm already in the last hour of the paper. Because section A requires reading, I do it last because it required thinking and connecting concepts. In both my papers I managed to answer 3 out of 5 questions in Section A, which means I always lose out on two questions. But that is okay.

Last semester I made the mistake of mulling over too long at Section A and not having enough time on Section B even though I know the answers. That was the mistake. You should answer what you could first. Save the hardest for last. The thing is, I wanted to answer all the questions, and I didn't want to have to go back to answer the hard question. So I spent the first two hours in Section A and ....got what I deserved.

Lesson learned.

I even prepared a notebook for all my notes, just like during SPM. I put all my notes into one book so I just have to read from that book. There's no point to study too much or too far from exams because our lecturers give precise tips. If you deviate away from the tips, you are just wasting time. 2-3 days are optimal for me. When other people say they are going away to study and you should too, they are just trying to pysche you up. Because, not that I want to brag, but I always did better than them, and I studied only like, 2 days. If not two hours. I really dont like studying. sighs.

Those people at the library for long hours are just wasting time. They just want to show off that they are studying hard. Just like during those long pointless hours of group discussions, those studies eventually go down the drain as well.

Losers. As if I will sink to your level! Same goes for the bastard doormat cangkul.

A Field Trip

Last Friday I went on a field trip to the MATRADE Tower Exhibition Center. I went there mostly to find some research materials for this International Business project we're doing. My part is to find out about Malaysia's exports. And Malaysia it seems, exports just about anything under the sun. This is also a chance for me to take Camus out on a full field trial. And he did not disappoint. I am happy XD.
One of the great thing about the exhibits there is that, you can sit on all the couches, and even roll over on the beds! There is not a single 'Do Not Touch' or 'Do Not Sit' sign everywhere! I went with Khaye and Mary and we took a lot of pictures between ourselves. Though I do remember to take pictures of the exhibits as well. I saw some Malay Tea, apparently a locally grown tea. I know Cameron Highlands has tea, but I never thought we'd have a tea unique to this region.
Still, their packaging looks nice XD.

The purpose of this exhibition is to expose locally made products to potential international buyers who want to import them to their countries. There were small trolley wheels...

All can be found at MATRADE. Just that, when we went there, they are currently renovation the place, apparently in preparation for a big exhibition to come. Wonder if I'll go to that one too. But one thing for sure, that place sure is HUGE.

After about an hour of toiling around MATRADE, we decided to end the day at Pavilion because someone has a hankering for doughnuts. So off we went.
And to the toilets where they have mirrors the lenght of the walls to indulge in endless vanity.

It was a job well done for Camus!

It was raining quite heavily when it was time to go home. I didn't bring an umbrella so I had to buy one. And that umbrella turned out faulty just after a couple of uses. *mutters angrily*

sighs.

Fun day. Next I'm going to talk about the play I went to on Sunday. Had quite an eventful weekend indeed!

Enter The Camus

After much toiling, and debating, and agonizing, I finally went ahead and bought myself a new camera. Everyone, please meet, Camus the Camera! A Sony Cyber-shot w80.

And yes, he is pink. Thus the name (named after girly-looking guys because like Sasarai, Camus is a guy who looks excessively like a girl. Not that I don't think that is hot XD). I already have a digicam actually, but that one doesn't take very good pictures in dim lighting. And besides, right now it's a bit out of...commission. Been wanting to have him fixed but haven't got the opportunity hehehe...

Took a bit of browsing before I actually bought this one. I searched around at the available models. tried them on, the went online to look for user reviews. I had several things to consider, one being the quality of pictures it take in dim lighting, price, functionality, appearance and of course, whether it'll still be relevant in four years to come.

If you hadn't gone digicam browsing lately, you'll notice that most of the new Sony cameras are touchscreens. Not that I mind too much with touchscreens, but...you know. I am a clumsy person and such, so enough said about that.

The wonders of browsing around Sg. Wan led me to the realization that I could get the camera for cheaper than the list price of RM999 and with a free 1GB memory stick! I found RM950 and RM920, but thankfully they don't have pink ones. Until finally I went to this store where my dad bought my last digicam and they offered me the same package for the price of RM899! Plus I get a free pouch!

The pouch is dull and black, and the sale assistant know too well that I would replace it as soon as I got it. But for now it is Camus's sleeping bag, until I can find a better one, who knows?

I saved rm100. And that, my friend, is a lot of money XD. I could buy a pants or a shirt from Padini Authentics with it.

My sister is coming over from Kuching tonight to go watch Backstreet Boys concert tomorrow night. Glad I don't have to go. Not that I don't like BSB, but the timing is not right. I'd rather sit at home and watch TV than go out and see the concert :/.

I'm very busy these days you know.

I have been buying a lot of books lately. I was influenced by them, but it doesn't mean I never meant to not buy them.

Anyway, I've been thinking a lot recently. About a lot of things. I set myself against my benchmarks and I'm so far from reaching them. I get depressed thinking about how I'm just drifting along, doing work that was required of me and bothered little of doing more.

Honestly speaking, it pissed me off.

And yes, I am pissed off at myself.

So now I've decided it's time to steel myself and set out to achieve what I want. I even got myself a new book for it hehehehehe.

Today we secured the apartment for Me and Nadja. We met the owner today and he was...young...and good-looking....hehehehehehehehehehhehehehehe.

So far removed from the stuffy old man who was their previous landlord. He kept talking to me about his trip to Kuching in 1982!

I wasn't even born yet!

After we met the owner and stuff, we went to KLCC since it was still early. I got the third book for The Abhorsen Trilogy cause I finally got the funds for it hehehehe.

Nadja turns heads. She has a lot of admirers. But it is very convinient. Taxis stop for her. It's easier to get taxis with her around hehehehe. Today,(January 28th, Monday) is her birthday and Me and I got her a Gackt picture book. She's been dreaming about it since she first laid eyes on it. But Me is cruel. She wouldn't let Nadja has it till daybreak. She bribed me with toast, even though I said she could just have it, but Me wouldn't.

The waiting is agony for her.

New Homies

I've missed blogging about Christmas and new year so at least I'd blog about....my boring life. Needless to say I've been staying offline ever since I went back to Kuching. Well, forget about that boring bit.

I have new homies! They are but temporary but still. And they are both otakus. It amazes me how some people could be so...engrossed in games and anime. Today we went for a viewing appointment at a condo in Puchong. We arrived one hour and a half late, because we got on the wrong bus and was stuck in the middle of nowhere (again). Those two looked like lost tourists while I was their lost tourist guide. (sigh)

This tourist guide stigma is stuck on me now.

But, after we had lunch at IOI Mall we went to KLCC and I get to do some happy shopping. Rare do I find books that could tempt me to buy them on the spot, and today I bought two of them!! The Abhorsen Trilogy can wait hehehehehehe.

I have been busy all week and my reward is that I have a bucketload of socks to wash and laundry to do. My first week in college and we are already stomped down with asses! But at least there's no cangkul lecturer this sem. And my results came out pretty early - to the surprise of everyone! And already I see 'group ass' drama. You know, 'I don't want to be in that group with those people' sort of drama. I've learned my lessons and no way in hell am I letting freeloaders into my group. NEVER.

Though more dramas went on the moment my homies arrived from Kuching. If not because of some individual's selfishness, unfortunately. Least I could do is make sure they get a good house this time.

Freaking Good Holiday

I GOT A PSP! It's 'felicia blue' and his name is Mull. This has been my only target purchase in Singapore. I have been saving my money for this thing and finally on the last day, I got it!! This is Mull with his family. I got the pouch and earpiece in KL though. It was a pretty darn expensive earphones too. Karol convinced me branded ones are well worth the price so since I plan to play Mull on the plane ride home I decided to get one. You can also see the extra battery in the background. That battery lasts for up to 10 hours++ (I think). And a lucky thing I got that in Singapore. The longest battery life I could find in KL was 7 hours. And even then it was crap. The salesman 'warned' me that I won't be able to cover the battery lid back if I insert a battery of any bigger size. But honestly I don't care. It's not like you see the battery at the back anyway. Consider the extra battery as a cooler pad for your laptop. Your lappy will work just fine without them, but with it, it's 'supposed' to last longer.

And of course, an original first game! It would be accurate to say that I bought a PSP just to play this game. The salesman, whose name is Ash, or Ashley tried to convince me to get a 4 GB memory card and he'll add 10 free games inside for me. Including FFT. But you know, I refused the offer because I just wanted FFT and nothing else? Some would call it stupid, but I honestly do not plan to clog my memory stick with games. My PSP is modified, but I decided to buy the games that I really want. Tthere's a pride to be had when owning an original game XD.

Singapore was shopping haven. I mostly visited stores of the brands I normally go in KL because their Singapore selections are different. All the while, we are flagged by Japanese students in almost every mall, especially DFS Galleria, a big mall just for duty free goods and souvenirs. It's not enough that they conquer the whole of our hotel floor, they have to be EVERYWHERE too! In the hotel floor we stayed, except for our two rooms, all the others are occupied by Jap students and their teachers.

A few are fine, but when you get overwhelmed by them in the lifts it does get kinda intimidating.

Anyway, we returned last Friday and tomorrow I'll be going home - FINALLY! Am getting a little bored of shopping malls now, but for some reason, I can't stop spending! XD I still need to get a strap for Mull.

When I get home I shall celebrate christmas with chocolates, DVDs, and games. Ha~ I can't wait!
