Quarter Life Birthday 22/4/2012

It's been a while since I made any birthday posts. And it has also been a few years since I celebrated my birthday in Kuching. My youngest sister's birthday also falls on the same date so this is our first birthday together since a long time. This also happens to be Sarah's first birthday party, so she was really looking forward to her presents. Ahh, the good old days.

Anyway, she celebrated her party at McDonald's with the them of Spongebob, so all her friends are supposed to wear yellow. Of course, not everyone had yellow things to wear, but it was still amusing to see them putting so much effort to follow the dress code. Let's move on to the birthday girls shall we?

Me and my awesome party hat
Sarah and her friends. It's good to be young and excitable. sighs.

And the food, of course. Each bag contains a piece of chicken. There are fries and nuggets as well. Suits picky eaters like me best since I always have my burgers plain xD.
And you can't have a birthday party at this age without games. My dad took the games maybe a little too seriously...

Now presenting our birthday cake! It was a surprise, apparently, because I came home for my birthday on the last minute hahahaha. You might remember this picture from this post. It is the exact same picture used. My elder sis had a copy and it was one of those rare pics of Sarah and I together.

Although I didn't get to eat my own head.
After the party, we all went home and Sarah went to excitedly unwrapping all her presents with the (probably unwelcomed) help of some of her friends. Later that night we went out for seafood because that's all I wanted to have for my birthday. Presenting the oyster pancake!
Can't believe I've seen this anywhere else in the world but here.

After dinner I met up with Totchi at The Atelier, this bar restaurant that was set in a renovated colonial home. I played pool for the first time since I was maybe ten or twelve waaaay back at the Kiddies Club at Damai Beach. I sucked at it, but it was still fun. It was funny how everyone there had a drink, a bottle or just a glass in front of them while I had a complete tea service before me! Isn't it obvious that I don't belong in such places? I met some interesting people. Bar flies are often nice people, I was told. I just didn't dare to take pictures of myself there because I'm afraid that people will take it out of context. :P Either way, my clothes smelled of smoke when I finally went home and had a feverish, cigarette-smelling dream that night because turned out I was on the verge of a fever that became full on the next day.

Overall, what an interesting birthday! Ta'ra!

Happy Birthday To MEEE!

22! It finally happened! Thank you to all of you who wished me happy birthday! I never thought I'd get so much SMSes. I seriously don't, being the social recluse I am. So thank you. :'>

The day of the birthday itself, (April 22nd, 2009, Wednesday) I had an assignment due and class, so I wasn't looking forward to anything fun. But I decided I don't wanna spend the rest of the day wandering the malls, so I bought cake and looked for company. Mary cooked dinner for me when I came over with cake.

It's a Royal Choice chocolate cake. Vety unlike me, isn't it? I won't be having cheesecake this year, since Khaye and Mary can't eat cheese (Aren't I thoughtful??). I'll just buy the cheesecake later hehehe.
Someone couldn't stop snapping, that's how weird pictures like this came about.

xD Fun, fun. Thanks Khaye and Mary for hosting. Thanks Caroline for the pressie! :D

When I got home, I went back down again to check my mailbox, and see what was scrunched up in there!!

It actually arrived!

Hahahahaha! Oh Sammy you surprise me!

And look, it even came with a handwritten letter! And in pencil! Hhahahaha! There's no competition who has the better handwriting here XD.

The fridge it went!

So what was the treasure inside?

LOVEHOLIC 2!!!

I've been waiting for it for two months, but it didn't seem to be due on Malaysian shores, so I asked dear Sammy to get it for me. I read it on the same night of course. Aaah, what a perfect ending to a great day! xD

Looking forward to my get together this Saturday. Don't be late!!

Ta'ra!

"Prezen?"

After harrassing other people to celebrate their birthday just so I can eat cake, my hour finally arriveth. And aye, I never take my cake for granted. If I was in Kuching, it would be Bing's Mars Bbar Cheesecake, but alas, this is KL and only Starbucks' marble cheesecake can come close. So Starbucks it was!

Some may say that I can't wait until today to turn 21 that I just had to hold a party earlier. I do not deny, nor do I admit this statement. XD

I booked for 12 people at the Secret Recipe Bukit Bintang, but in actuality I was only expecting 7 friends to come, including myself 8. It was my dad who blew up the fugures. Some people canceled out, but in the end, my family arrived to fill the gap. My parents, my aunt and uncle. Motherhood was just in town for one night though, to attend a launching ceremony or some sort.

Here are the crazy people who decided it was safe to attend my gathering. These three were non-stop entertainment (to themselves) the whole time.Farida came with her homie. I met her the previous day when I went over to see to the kitties. I thought she would come with her cousin, but I think her homie is better. She didn't talk much, and I fear we might have bored her. But oh well. Can't please everyone.Khaye and Mary came the latest (as usual) due to the oversleeping drama. They are both pinching my fat thigh 'to get a rection'. I know my thighs are fat la...T-T
I know people are always curious about their hair, so I put out in the open immediately. Here is Mary, explaining that her cornrows are real and how she made them. The expression on my uncle's face is priceless...
This is just before I blow the candles out. I made them sing me 'happy birthday' before that of course. Normally I am averse to such public cliche, but who cares. I only get people to sing me happy birthday only once a year!
Can you believe that motherhood is turning 50 this 26th? And yes, Khaye's hair makes an excellent came-whoring prop. xD

Totchi and Ezra couldn't make to the gathering, but we promised to go shopping the next day so it was fun anyway. Hehehehe.
This is my spoils for the day.
A Ghibli Movie collection DVD Watshiwa-san got for me xD.Hyde on the card looks like a squid xDDD.

Today is my actual birthdate and I missed my stop on the bus because I fell asleep. sighs. Went all the way to Kotaraya, took a train to KL Sentral and then took the monorail to BB. I bought myself an eye shimmer to commemarate the day, but the lost of my specs is as good as any commemaration. I shall go buy a pair tomorrow. And maybe another eye shimmer. I bought a pink one today, which was half the price it originally was, and tomorrow I'll buy a more flesh colored one xDDD. Make up is fun...

So that is all for my birthday report. Daddyo said he's coming sometime end of this week to have my brithday dinner. It's a tradition. Maybe I'll have thandoori this year. *drools*

Ta'ra!

Oh, before I forgot, "prezen?" xD

Someone decided that it's not enough to get my one strap, so she gave me two handphone straps. Maybe hoping that I would lay off hers from now on. Thank you SGWSS!

Tri-city Run Around

Yesterday was fun. I went to Shah Alam to visit my friend and her brood of cats. This is mainly because my friends from Puchong wanted to adopt one of her kitties. My friend lives in a flat and could only afford the mother, Che'Mong. Funny name...
So like it or not, she has to give away the kitties. They may be cute now, but soon they will be financially unfavorable to a student living on a tight budget. The four of them together. After playing with them for the good part of the day, my friends finally decided on the black one with white socks. It is aptly nicknamed "Jumper" for now or "Jumpa" because she likes jumping a lot.

It was a close race between Jumpa and "Princess" Panadol. This is the owner's favorite and she will only give her away to the most deserving. She is easily the most beautiful of the brood, an apparent 'princess-type' of kitty. I wasn't sure why my friends didn't pick her. They preferred Jumpa because she was more active. This is Toe Sucka. He is the smallest, yet the most active. It reminds me of that small boy in class with the annoying face every girls love to hate because he is simply obnoxious.Toe Sucka at work. He licks, then scratches and bites. There are better scratching poles you know...This is Pumpkin. My friend's roomie's cat. Pumpkin is a very docile and submissive male. He is cross-eyed and has a long body like a sausage dog. He may be bigger than Che'Mong, but he is a big freaking coward. Che'Mong owns his ass. What you have here is the cat version of a cangkul, really.
Pumpkin is like that geek that tries to hide his big bulk in an obscured corner of the house. Most of the time, he'll be hiding behind the washing machine or the desk and all you see of him is half of his face. I mean seriously, it tried to 'slink' away in the middle of the room! How stupid can you get?
However, the all-black kitty in the middle here, adores him. He follows Pumpkin everywhere, like an apprentice looking up to his role model. I fear this kitty's future...

We bought all the stuff for the cat from a pet shop nearby. After that we left for Puchong to the cat's new home. It was amazing how we managed to get there in record time because of our reluctant but very efficient driver. But the trip to KL was hampered by massive jams.

I had a dinner appointment with Totchi and Ezra later that night but I was a good one hour late for it. I'm sorry T-T...

Totchi dressed up very nicely last night and we all forgot to take pictures!!!

I feel like an out of place kid next to her...

Oh, I wished we could have talked longer. Its because I had already asked daddyo to send Totchi back to her hotel that night. That hotel is at an obscured corner of China Town, you see...
But it was incredibly fun talking, catching up on each other and uh, old stories revisited xD.

Today I'm holding a birthday gathering at Secret Recipe BB so all who's been invited...you guys better come!

I know, it's a little early since my birthday is really 22nd April next Tuesday. But you know, the next weekend's date is further from my actual birthday than this one :D.

So, Ta'ra!
